Partial or total hair loss due to a medical condition or a medical treatment can be devastating. Fortunately, Elite Hair's non-surgical cranial prosthesis can solve any hair loss situation by replacing all of a client's hair back to it's original style with all of the clients natural wave pattern and look, often clients have a change of style while going through the medical treatment.
Hair loss related to chemotherapy happens rapidly-usually within two to three weeks after the start of the treatment. Hair re-growth can occur from six months to a year. A full return of a client's hair usually takes nine months.
Every hair loss situation can be restored to the client's original look. If you are starting medical treatment it is best to remove a hair sample for future match up. The most important portion of the design is the hairline. In order for a client to look natural the hairline needs to look exactly like the client's hairstyle before the hair loss occurred.
A medical hair prosthesis must be comfortable. The fit must be contoured to give a natural feel. The client should feel as if it is his/her own growing hair. The attachment methods are daily or permanent using tapes or water based medical grade adhesives. The cranial prosthesis will enable the client to continue his/her lifestyle. As you can see from the pictures on Elite's site we fit all the criteria needed for the client going through Medical treatment.
Our clients who have had the Elite Hair cranial prosthesis have stressed that being able to maintain a positive self-image after going through the medical treatment was a vital component for there own personal therapy and recovery.
Prolonging hair loss after the client's diagnosis
Once hair fallout occurs, it can happen rapidly. At that point it is best to wash your hair less frequently. Try styling your hair with your hands instead of brushes. Be gentle and avoid using rollers and curling irons. Hair coloring and permanent waving should also be avoided.
Time is not normally an issue, Elite has designed a cranial prosthesis hair system that is adaptable to 90% of our clients, Elite has in-house corrective staff that can customize a pre-design system to the clients needs. This normally takes two week's. This includes color blending for the client that may desire several different color blends.
If a full custom order has to be placed, this will take up to four weeks.
It is best if a client schedules an appointment with Elite immediately after the diagnosis. We will have enough time to analyze the client's hairstyle and hair tendencies before the hair loss process begins. We take everything into consideration, the shaft volume, the wave pattern, the texture, the length, the density and any other elements that are required to give the client what he/she desires. After completion of the hair replacement system, the hairs will truly look as if they are growing right out of the client's scalp or skin. This bestows a healthy natural appearance on the client.
The Custom Cranial Prosthesis Design
A mold will be made of the client's head shape. This enables the system to have a perfect, comfortable fit.
The consultant will help the client with decisions regarding color, texture, length, waves, curls and other critical elements required for an excellent, undetectable prosthesis.
Decisions will be made on base materials. Some materials are very durable, and some materials disappear on the skin, allowing for an undetectable, natural appearance.
All questions will be addressed and answered.
Production of the prosthesis
The cranial prosthesis will be, meticulously produced by Elite Hair Alternatives, with the highest quality human hair, this will take 4 weeks.
The fitting and cut-in of the prosthesis
After the system is produced, an Elite technician will cut in the system on the client. This will take 2-4 hours. The technician will be using images or pictures as a guide to create the finished result the client desires.
All client maintenance procedures will be discussed and described in detail.
Fine tuning of the system is available for the client, this is performed when the client feels the system might need to be altered to a different requirement. Are in-house technical staff are available for these needs.
Insurance Policies and Medical Prothesis
Many Insurance companies will cover the cost of a client's hair prosthesis.
During this traumatic experience it is easy for the diagnosed to be unaware of the benefit an insurance policy might/may hold, all though it is best to check with the Insurance company in advance of a consultation, on several occasions an Elite consultant has advised and helped speak to the Insurance company to secure the client's cranial prosthesis system prior and during the medical treatment.
We at Elite write a reciept for a 'Cranial Prosthesis' and the client's doctor should write a prescription for the same and submit it for full or partial coverage.
The product does exceed the Insurance coverage but we at Elite have for that client made a 'compromise' to cover their cost. Additional color work 'if necessary' will be charged at regular color work costs.
Elite Hair Alternatives work closely with hostpitals and doctors to give the client the benefit of a FANTASTIC product.
